Music

Music is an important part of the life of Hope Chapel. We are blessed to have a large community of musicians call our church home, and many of them serve regularly in worship on Sundays. We incorporate a variety of texts and tunes from across cultures and times in our services, recognizing that we are one piece in the larger picture of God’s work in the world. We also incorporate original music, and seek to celebrate the musical culture that is uniquely Greensboro.

If you come to a worship service at Hope Chapel, you may be surprised to hear some old sounding texts set to modern sounding music. We’re passionate about making hymns more accessible by setting them to new music. We’ve recorded two EPs of these songs, and hope to continue.

If you are a musician or sound technician and are interested in getting involved with our worship ministry, please contact our director of worship arts, Michael Van Patter.

Latest Project:

A number of our musicians worked together to record an album of favorite hymns that we sing regularly at Hope Chapel. It was recorded live in our sanctuary to an empty room back in 2021, and we finally finished it! It’s available to stream everywhere (click to listen on Spotify or Amazon Music). Big thanks to Dan Reppert who mixed the album, and many of our musicians who contributed.
