Donations Collected for Helene Relief This Sunday

October 13

We are helping stock up a trailer for a relief crew headed to Asheville this week with supplies, which means we need items brought to the church THIS Sunday, October 13th (or email us if you need to arrange another time before Monday morning to drop-off).  Please take them to the new youth building area behind the church when you arrive on Sunday. Here is the complete list of what you can bring (please read the specifics!):

Cleanup Supplies:
  • 5-gallon buckets with resealable lid. Buckets from fast-food restaurants or bakeries can be used if washed and cleaned; NO buckets that have stored chemicals such as paint or pool cleaner
  • Liquid laundry detergent: One 50-oz. or two 25-oz. bottle(s) only
  • Liquid household cleaner: 12‐16 oz. liquid cleaner that can be mixed with water; no spray cleaners
  • Dish soap: 16‐28 oz. bottle any brand
  • Insect repellant spray: 6‐14 oz. aerosol or spray pump with protective cover
  • Scrub brushes: Plastic or wooden handle
  • Cleaning wipes: Handi Wipes or reusable wipes; no terry cleaning towels
  • Sponges: no cellulose sponges due to mold issues – remove from wrapper
  • Scouring pads: no stainless steel, Brillo pads, or SOS pads (nothing with soap built in)
  • Clothesline and clothespins: one 100-ft. or two 50-ft. lines; cotton or plastic
  • 24-roll heavy-duty trash bags / contractor bags: 33‐ to 45-gallon sizes; remove from the box
  • N-95 dust masks
  • Kitchen dishwashing gloves: should be durable enough for multiple uses
  • Work gloves: cotton with leather palm or all leather

Medical Needs:

  • quality wound wash like vasche or equivalent
  • hibiclens (also a wound wash)
  • 2″ cloth med tape
  • large bandaids (like 2″×3″)
  • sleeves of non sterile, woven 4x4s (often called gauze sponge pads)
  • sterile non adherent pads
  • 5mL saline “bullets” or “flushes” and/or sterile water for wound wash
  • iodine swabs and/pads
  • bzk pads (an antiseptic)
  • EMT jump bags (not too big)
  • medical chuck pads
  • distilled water
  • albuterol “bullets” for home nebulizer
  • nebulizer sets for running off o2 tank
  • shelving with organizer bins (like this)
Items to Borrow (please label with your name, either by writing in permanent marker or writing on duct tape and taping over that with clear tape):
  • Shovels (flat)
  • Crowbars
  • Sledgehammers
